
Richard W. Hickok, 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away September 23, 2017. There will be no services. At the request of Mr. Hickok, family and friends will gather at VFW Post 1111 in Mooresville, IN, for remembrances following a military color guard and salute at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30.
Mr. Hickok was born October 1, 1939, at Niagara Falls, NY. He was a Navy Veteran having actively served in Vietnam. For his outstanding performance of duty as a radioman, he was awarded a Letter of Commendation from Destroyer Squadron SEVENTEEN.
Additionally, Richard studied Electrical Engineering at Wayne State and Purdue University, was a clarinetist in the Purdue Symphonic Band, and continued his lifelong passion as an amateur radio operator. Rest in peace, K9PUI.
Survivors include Frances L. (Ashby) Hickok, wife, son Robert C. (Janet) Hickok, step-son Scott (April) Paul, and sister Sylvia (Gerald) Lindenberg. Beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces survive.
